It goes something like this….

…“Hello banks? Hi this is Rob… Hey I was wondering if you guys could sell me something almost guaranteed to hydro-lock my engine after a good rain storm… What’s that? No used is fine…. Ok I’ll look for that on ebay. Ahh yes, this is just the thing, I can hear the hydro-lock now…Thank you so much!!”

LOL :rotflmao Dang man, these trucks have it bad enough as is let along putting a funnel in there to aid in proper water flow. -Flame Thr

I am blaming that on my head bolt failure right now as I found 2 cylinders that had water in them for awhile while setting for 2 years.
Now I have a block with 2 broken head bolts in it.

I don't think that filter would help me any. :backoff

Air cleaner

Hey Rob, want to see a pic of my engine???

I have that exact air cleaner. When I bought the truck there was 3" of water sitting in there. Mopped it up and made sure the gasket on the bolt was in good shape and have never had a problem.

Cool! Glad to hear it seals the water out. I guess 3" of water is about the best test you could do.

Argve, it is okay, mine does not show the ebay link unless I look the actual html code for the page.

Rob, I believe that your unit may have been missing the 12 volt submersible pump. Banks should be able to suppy you with a replacement one if yours was missing. LOL
Seriously, back at the other place, there was a discussion of problems with the stock air cleaner if the hood to cowl seal was not in good shape and the gasket under the wing nut (bolt) was missing or damaged.

there is only the one hole in the center for the bolt, there are four braces around the bottom that look like holes in the picture.
i have had good luck with mine, with the bigger intake and exhaust(3 inch) i upped my milage from 12-14 to 18-20 give or take.

Well, good. I'm glad to hear folks are having good luck with this. It just proves 3 things.
1. I need to stop imagining things.
2. Things aren't always what they seem.
3. Most of you guys are smarter than me. If I had found 3" of water in mine like PAFIXIT did, I would have thought, Oh I know an easy way to get that out, just pull the center bolt. DOH!
