The AC doesn’t blow cold and I don’t care enough to fix it. Seems the belt is loose too, and want to trouble shoot some engine/belt clattering, and I don’t care enough to fix it. Can one just chop off the belt without worrying or will this impact other belts? It seems kind of non intuitive to tighten the belt but haven’t researched it at all, just want to do the easiest thing. Will keep the ac components in place in case plans change in the future.

Stock ‘88 with v belts and fancy AC push button switch (since it came up recently in some other threads)

My 89 is missing the compressor, and therefore the belt. Get the green Fleetrunner belts, good heavy duty belts.
