Yes, This and other larger turbos have been made to fit our idi engines. Now you need some information about this before you attempt it. Nothing made will simply bolt it up. EVERYTHING has to be custom fabricated to fit. If you can't or a very poor weldor please don't attempt this job. Its best if you can use a TIG torch so the custom welding can be done leak proof. Now can you cut with an oxy acetylene torch. If not how about a plasma torch or cnc table.. Nope, well then please know it going to be a really difficult job for you.
I am a pretty decent fabricator with MIG & TIG welding skills.
My TIG welding aluminum is ok, but not the best.
I can get help if need be.
I am better at TIG welding steel and SS.
I can machine like a madman tho
I have done a bit of work on my 01 PSD, so I know how the turbo mounts via. the pedestal
I am about to change intake gaskets on my IDI( major oil leak on the back of the block), so I will have a better knowledge on what I will need to do.
mounting the turbo shouldn't be a problem, nor will the up pipes, but the oil return line is what I am most concerned about.
as far as torching things, what would I need to torch?
they call me the cut off wheel king. I use cut off wheels for most things besides cutting 1/2" plate
