'97 F250 throttle position sensor failure?

Replaced it last year and now the check engine light came on and there is no throttle response. After slapping the pedal a few times it came back. Is there something else wrong or is the sensor prone to premature failure?

it's possible the TPS went bad. Could be the IVS too. Sometimes new parts out of the box can be bad.

Check the codes being thrown at you.

The tranny is most likely related to the throttle issue.

could be the transmission range sensor on the drivers side of the tranny where the shift linkage is.

but check the codes the CEL is on for a reason.nice thing about these trucks is they can tell you what the problem is
