89 F250 Super Cab seat issues

Since I've owned my truck the driver's side seat is slightly crooked. It leans to the inside. If I grab the driver's side seat and pull it towards the outside of the truck, I can see the floor flex beneath the carpet. I've looked at the underside of the cab and don't see any cracks. I seem to remember reading something about this being a common problem on these trucks. What's the solution? Is there a plate you can buy to fix it like the firewall mod?

that funny you say this. i have the same 89 f250 supercab. and i just replaced my carpet with a vinyl floor kit (bad mistake). I noticed these ********* plates that were riveted down to the floor around the seat area. It had to be factory done or something because these plates were all bent and broke to fit perfect. i might have a pic at home i will look for and post it for you.

I did until I installed a bench seat. The mounting locations are marked under the cab and just have to be drilled through.

I never liked the buckets, they sat to low (has nothing to do with me being short lol)

When I got this truck it had Spring Steel bucket seats in it that were okay, but the driver side seat reclining mechanism had been broken, so the PO had just drilled a hole through the steel in the seat and shoved a bolt through. It was in a painful straight up seating position that I just couldn't take. Plus, the seats were so low I had trouble seeing above the steering wheel. If I drove by you, it probably looked like a seven year had borrowed their parents' truck.

I managed to find a set of buckets out of an '86 standard cab F350 (I think) that I had reupholstered to match my truck. They look pretty good, so I'm planning on keeping the bucket seat situation. Am I going to have to rip out the carpet and console and weld a brace across the floor of the cab where the rear posts of the seats rest?

Lol I know how ya felt about the steering wheel lol. I had a ranger before my 250 that had low setting seats and no tilit wheel. Im not very big but looked even smaller ib that small truck.

You may want to check the seat itself, or the slider tracks. We had a customized van that had the nice bucket seats in it.... and at one time they tipped like this. The van was in a accident and the front 2 captains chairs had to be rebuilt. It was rock solid.

I guess I have the opposite problem with sitting in the seats. I am 6'4" and 375lbs.... so even in a full size truck, I take up the area between the seat and the roof..... I prefer a larger vehicle... since a small vehicle does not have enough room in them.....

Now I see what you're sayin'... it looks to me like one of the POs did that. I may have to do something similar.
