IDIiot,

Have you ever seen (or even heard of) an 8-door Ford PU??
(I saw one yesterday PM parked on the curb by the HEB grocery store on New Braunfels Av. = 8 doors, 8' bed, AWD & a dually.- It evidently belongs to some sort of oilfield service company from Louisiana & LOOKS "factory" - I'm guessing built in the early 2000s by some independent coachbuilder like Western Hauler or Centurion-Lehman but I don't know, as I've seen nothing like it.)

As I've said elsewhere, I'd bet that it's "a bear" to drive on city streets.
(My GF would have said, "It's as long as a well-rope.")

yours, satx

for the next couple of weeks, i am gearing up to do some major mods on my 87.

my goal is to have a 6 door vehicle for under a grand without the purchase of th two trucks.

how's that budget been holding out for ya? :D

iv never seen one of these limo trucks before.close though.iv seen 2 or 3 crew cabs with super cabs over my lifetime.spread out over the years.i haven't seen one in years now.......and iv put some miles behind me......and been to a few places.
it's a cool project.keep on her.;Sweet

oah, i did get it done under a grand.
that was the first round of mods.

now i want a NICE truck.
something completely custom, because.. its what i do.
but i have tons of money into this.

i have over 5k into the engine.
and i dont want to count the rest of the countless spending.
if i was to guess, id say i have right about 12 grand into the truck.
but its built exactly the way i want it!
and it should last me a very long time!

new engine new suspension, new damn near anything i could get!

the only purchase i regret is the outside door seals i bought 4 of at 100 a pop

she'll be worth every penny.the foolish are the ones shelling out over 60 grand for an assembly line pickup which will devalue long before they pay off the loan.

hell you loose 20-40% soon as you drive it off the lot!

but if i had that kind of coin collecting dust in my account, i would buy a slightly used truck.

i could afford a new truck payment, but id rather spend that 5-600 a month buying parts.

plus i dont use DEF, or smog stations lol

FORDF250XLT; IDIiot,

Both of you gentlemen, "said a mouthful". = Fyi, I have an "old boarding school chum" who recently spent > 70,000.oo on a NEW Ford PU.

Pardon me for saying:
1. I don't want his > 1000.oo car payments for a LONG time.
(I think that he said 1150.oo a month for 5 years PLUS the nice PU that he traded in.)
2. I'll have less than 2000-2500.oo bucks in my "new to me" low-mileage diesel 1986 XLT Lariat when Steve, his dad & I finish re-doing it & returning it to "factory stock", i.e., about 2 MONTHS of David's monthly payments
and
3. I seriously doubt that, barring a wreck that totals the PU, that I'll live long enough (at nearly 70YY) to need to buy another PU.
(Fwiw, I remodeled one 1991 F250 & 6 months later it was totaled by a county firetruck, while parked.)

yours, satx

Looks nice, took me a few seconds to get my bearings. Looks like the winch mount?
