My 1986 f350 in an XL and has no tach. I've read conflicting reviews on after market tachs for these trucks, what are my options and which is best?
So the wires from the fuse box, tach sensor, etc. are there on the connector for the cluster, but the traces aren't there on the board? I see the tach head has stud terminals. I'd be tempted to just cut the wires from the connector, then run wires to ring terminals to put on the appropriate studs.I installed just the tach on my 4x4 without the circuit board. Solder wires on to the card in the appropriate places. So it can be done.
