With my truck catching fire it has taken priority over the jeep pushing it to the back burner for a while

Understood. That really sucks! So sorry that that happened. Keep us posted on the Jeep and the truck of course...

When I get a chance to start working on it again I might start a build thread on it

A build thread would be cool. It could inspire me to do a OM617/YJ swap myself. I just so happen to have all the right components.

If I installed a 7.5mm injection pump where I would need a upgraded turbo, would a 7.3 idi factory turbo work well as a upgraded turbo?

You could start with the pump and see what boost and exhaust temperature is and go from there. The guy a doomsday diesel just came out with a turbo kit. I think pretty much a bolt in.

Thanks for the tip. I was unaware that any company offered bolt in turbos for these engines

I saw it on his Facebook page about a week ago. I think you can get the 7.5mm pump through him also, but I'm not positive. He has a lot of conversion stuff for Toyotas and Jeeps.
