I got what I believe to be the 300td (5 cylinder with turbo) in a jeep yj and I was wondering if there is a fuel adjustment screw similar to the old Ford idiot's to turn up the fuel

Welcome to the forum. More than likely the engine is a OM 617.

remove your "alda" and put a washer under it.
thin washer= a little extra fuel
thick washer = a lot of extra fuel
2 thin washers too much fuel.
be careful a little thickness goes a long way.
DO NOT TRY TO ADJUST THE ALDA these are all old and plastic and old rubber inside you mess with them and it will break every time. put a washer under it and be happy with your fingers crossed of course.

The Alda matches fuel output with boost on these engines to keep them from overfueling before the turbo spins up. Shimming or adjusting will give it more fuel sooner.
I have never shimmed one, only adjusted and never had one break, but I last adjusted one a decade ago so things in them may be more brittle now.

Looks like the alda was previously removed so it should be full flow all the time. Is there any other adjustment to give a little more power?

Missing the ALDA....now that's telling!
Someone was trying to increase fuel and did the ultimate....removed it.
the OM617's injection pump does reduce fuel delivery as it's wearing out, making the engine feel like a semi clogged fuel filter. you might just be dealing with this problem. other issues are worn rings. do you have blow by?
another might be your expectations for that engine. the 617 was never a very powerful motor for it's size.
Do you have smoke at night, in the headlights of the car behind you when taking off? you should see a little bit, but in daytime if you see ANY you are already running rich. or have ring issues. the om617 is a very clean engine when set up correctly and not worn out.
If you decide to adjust the IP itself and can figure out the MB instructions to do this .....you are a better man than i.

If you have smoke from the tail pipe, Next thing to do is delete the egr if it has not already been done.
Have you checked your boost levels? This is a wastegated turbo so you want to see that it is functioning correctly.
Also confirm that the alda boost sensor line was plugged when the alda came out. It was a line coming off of the back of the intake manifold.

have you checked the timing chain or tensioner yet. cam timing can really mess with your power output. one of the most neglected parts of these motors.
