7.3idi #8 cyl hardline

Hey guys. Was trying to get my 94 f250 n/a started and found that the fuel line nut on the #8 injector line is cracked in half, guess thats it was leaking and sucking air. I have a spool of nicopp to make new lines but these have some kind of compression fitting that I do not recognize.

Is it possible to make a new fuel line using NiCopp tubing? Or do I have to buy a premade line with those ends? I found them online for 80$

These lines are made out of all one piece. NiCopp will not hold up. They also have all be the same length so you have equal cylinder injection timing.

Ok, thanks for the info. What do you mean that Nicopp cant stand up to it? If the lines are one piece, how do they get the nuts on the hose?

Also, do you guys know if the nuts are steel? I might try welding mine together and see if it works.

Also - Do you guys have a source for these?

Your best bet would be a used line from a junk yard or a member here in the marketplace. The Diesel Store sells new lines. http://thedieselstore.com/

That price you posted for a new line is terrible and expensive. Most members have spares. I know I have probably 10 spares of evey cylinder hard line. I will sell you one for $40.00 and free shipping. Or find a wrecking yard and take one off an engine. Make sure you have the 4 line clamps on the hard lines too. Those are a vibration damper and without them the vibration from the fuel pulses will crack the lines.
These lines are a one piece material that is compressed to make the end flairs. We can't duplicate that flair. Remember these lines will see 1850 lbs and as much as 2300 lbs of fuel pressure. Our injection pumps can make around 5000 lbs of fuel pressure. The hard line nuts are a hardened material and will not weld so do not try it. They are harder than the injectors and when cross threaded on an injector they are fine but the injector needs fixing the threads. I have done this a few times. BTW every cylinder has its number cast into the intake manifold port at that cylinder so just clean off some dirt to make sure what line you are needing.

remeber, nicop is used as brake line tubing where you can also see up to 3000 psi of working pressure.. However it is a very small ID, which can handle the pressure easier than tha larger fuel line ID.. I have yet to find nicop in larger than 1/8" id, usually 3/16.
