hi my 7.3 is leaking oil from a couple spots, one of those being the rear main, im going to be pulling the motor and regasketing the whole thing. if i pull the heads and do the headgaskets will i need to have the heads resurfaced and will i needs new head bolts? and how much boost are stock headgaskets and head bolts rated for, want a little headroom for future upgrades.

Do you know for sure it's your rear main because it's a good chance it isn't. I was about to pull mine until I discovered it was the big plug in the back of the head. It looked just like the rear main but it wasn't. So I changed all 4 of them,1 in the front & 1 in the rear in each head. I have 300,000 drive it every day (and since I fixed all leaks) I can park in any driveway leak free.

rear main seals rarely fail on the 7.3 PSD, most of the time it's something else leaking above that looks like a rear main seal.

The headgaskets will handle just about any power level you throw at them.
