So my friend and I recently found my old high school project car
A 1990 supra turbo, the car ran and drove but had rod knock due to someone driving it with a blown head gasket, so we quickly drove down to Milwaukie and pick it up for $450. We got it home and we were talking about what could fit in place of the 7mgte and I've seen one YouTube of people putting chevy 350's in supras but I thought why not a 7.3 idi there cheap and it's roughly the same size but the weight might be a problem, I just want the simplicity of the idi because the old supra engine has way too many vacuum lines for my taste. Any suggestions?

Why not a 12v Cummins with the P-Pump or a Cummins 4bt?

Much more power to be had.

It would be an easy swap as parts are everywhere for them. 4bt especially.
