2003 E350 temp gauge question.

I am working on a 2003 ford e350 with the 7.3l but I am having trouble with the temp gauge jumping when in gear. When in park or not moving it will lay on the C. But when you rev up the motor it will jump to the H and peg out. I replaced the temp sensor. still jumping.

sounds like one of the wires is grounding itself when the engine is revved causing the gauge to peg.

Your wiring is messed up. Do you have a solid ground? Is the connection between the gauge and the sensor good and tight? Is anything bumping into the sensor or gauge when reved up? You should have ONE wire going from the sensor to the gauge with NO splices.

agreed, open connection makes it go to the max on the guage. probably bad ground or weak spot in the sensor wire, have a buddy watch the guage and play with the wiring to the temp sensor.

also sounds like what happens when you got an air bubble, but these engines are fairly easy to fill, through the resevoir..

i believe E and F are the same.
my E350 is a 98, so its inbetween
yes the PSD has a temp sensor right above the water pump... or in the T stat housing,
