Ya want to find a good one, don't want to do this again. when you say weld it do you weld it around where the tube and mounts to the pump (where mine broke?)

TACK weld around the spot that broke then go to the mount that bolts to the main cap, check it, more than likely cracked too, under or around the nut. Tack it too then remove it and weld pump point first, then main cap spot.
I run a few extra weld lines around to strengthen all those points.
Or find a good one and use it. I ALWAYS weld them up regardless, if broke or not.

Yes there is a gasket between the pump and the pickup tube but.. There is no gasket between the pump and the block. Remember its gear driven and a gasket would change the gear lash. That is a metal to metal joint. I used a thin film of permatex avaition cement on that joint. Its the brown liquid in the small plastic bottle with the brush in the cap. Its not required but I wanted some extra insurance there.
