The trucks started loud even with the block heaters on. My dad fried the E4DOA in his work truck yesterday morning from plowing snow all night (we got like 17" at my house). It was a crazy last couple of days. The shop did get a new trans in dads truck before nightfall though so he was back at it again at 1:30 this morning. My brothers truck, the one we just put the new clutch in and changed the trans fluid and all that good stuff in doesn't like shifting until it gets about 10 miles put on it. The gears dont grind or anything just extremely stiff to push into gear. I had to plow my moms crew cab through a snow drift that was higher than the hood yesterday going into town to pick up my dad after his truck broke down, was actually very impressed it made it though it was well as it did. Packed snow into the grill so hard I had to take a broom stick to clean it all out so that it could get some air. lol
Anyway, just thought I'd share some of my adventures the last couple days.

It would be fun to play around in the snow for a little while, but the cold gets old fast. I think Ill stay here in Florida. I think its going to get down into the high 40's tonight, much better then freezing.

I can handle high 60's but anything lower then that requires a HEAVY jacket.

by the time winter gets half way through up here if we get a 60 degree day we is ruuning around in short sleeves and you will see folks starting to wear shorts

Winter is fun! I like to keep my toys tuned for winter and when it comes I run circles around those not prepared for it.

I've been running my GMC since it's 4wd and the Ford is just 2, when no one plows the roads it helps to have extra drive wheels. And I know that even though it says 4wd, when I am IN 4wd it's only a 2wd because of the open axles. I may have to fix that someday, but since it's an 89 and I rarely get in over my head even when the snow is hood depth, I may just keep it like this for a while. Good tires help.

This weekend I am going to work on the 77 F250 Highboy, get the drivetrain ready to accept a spring/summer 6.9 swap. I have to do in the the good months because my cherry picker is a strong oak tree. But I may use the neighbors shop, we'll see if I feel like dealing with all of the kids running around.

Heavy jacket at 60 degrees, huh? Geez, your really thin skinned.

Its 14 degrees here today, and I'm only wearing a regular wool fall jacket (and gloves).

Not that I would stay out for hours in it, but I stay warm walking from building to building here at work.

I dont so much mind the cold, its the wind that usually comes with it.

Today it started off muggy around 78 or 80. By 11 it was raining and had cooled off to the low 70's upper 60's. Im not wearing a jacket yet, but have one in the back seat with the stacks and spareparts I carry.

Agreed. 5* and sunny can feel balmy, but with the wind that is a different story.
