So long as your pattern is ok, that backlash is fine. On used gears, I focus more on the pattern then the backlash measurement.

I was told on used sets that if you get the pattern right, the backlash could be out of spec because of wear, and that you don't want to adjust it tighter because it will then give the wrong pattern. I'm not saying that you shouldn't measure backlash, but that if it's a little off on a used set not to be concerned. If it's way off, then it's new gear set time.

I'd run 0.006 backlash.

IME, it's tough to fine tune the pattern on used gears. You're either in the ballpark or waaay out.

I wanted to update everyone that I have been running the truck for a couple of weeks without any issues. No weird noises, grinding, growling, etc.

The tooth pattern was close enough. Given that they are most likely the originals, it is good enough for me.
