Anyone ran the 1/8? What was your time? What can break?

R U thinking of doing RaceLegal down at Qualcomm? Never done it in a truck, but used to go several times in my 04 GTO (RIP). Biggest problem with any track (especially that one since it's just a prking lot) is hooking up. Wheel-hop was always a big issue for me unless I had DRs on. Barona, though, is a legit track with tons of traction.

Overall, I'd worry about what the wheel hop may do if you can't get the power down smooth.

The parking lot can't be to much worse than hard acceleration on the street though. Lol. I saw last year that Barona had a diesel drag day. Iirc it was last August. I should check if there are any other diesel drag days coming up...

I use to work for race legal I know what you mean. Also Tw wheel hop is what I was worried about at lunch I did to launchs and I usually have alot of hope but I think I can shift around it I did both times. So I guess I may go my friends gonna run his stroker too lol all I can beat him is out of the hole for about 40 feet lol maybe all just try for reaction times and 60ft times.

That 10.8 calculates to roughly a 16.85 in the 1/4 which sounds about right. Seems like you did alright for your first time. I was talking to Justin though and he said "he might be down in December with the guys from ATS to race and that he wants that a**". Lol

It would be cool idi versus idi. If I have mine running well by then and have the supercharger and water/methanol on, I might be willing to race him. I still know I would get stomped but it would be fun. Plus the boost at idle might help me a bit down low til he blows by me. Haha

Pretty impressive, especially with the 5 speed. I take it you launched in 2nd? Even still, I cannot imagine hustling the ZF quick enough between shifts. I'm guessing you hit 4th as well, right?

Way back when I would go, there was a guy with a early 90s Dodge Cummins that ran all the time. That thing was quick. He'd run high 8s on good nights. I always hated racing him when I was on street tires because not only would I lose from the poor hole shot, I'd be in his smoke the whole way down the track.

Stickier tires for starters. Past that, on solid axle vehicles you need something to keep the axle from trying to twist over (axle wrap) like drag bars or similar.

Left in 1st on the street I get more traction. But I had wheel hope every pass and there was lil kids there with there mini dragsters so I only gt 3 pass for my 50dollars grrr. I would have tried 2nd if I got to make more passes. I ran a second behind a bone stock 95 lighting 302 n/a 200k on the clock if I could have kept up. Also I was running bio diesel which did well I ran 700 egt. I kept my foot on gas for three min before take off to get it warmer it was cold and alot of in between still never got full operating temp. Anyways not bad for an old pick up. I will be building Traction bars soon.

Wait, was this Race Legal or Barona? $50? Holy cow! I don't remember either venue being that pricey. And I used to get so many runs in at RaceLegal that I'd give up before the end of the night.

Race legal is awsome no they are shut down Lydia quit. It was barona it was 40 an 10 for my passenger
