Some useful information here. GE i appreciate the pictures! It sounds like the usual some have good luck with aftermarket and others do not. I still appreciate the input and experience. By the way to clarify I am talking about the 1994 truck not my 86. The 86 is no big deal just slap some more...
Thanks for the input. I have heard from people I've talked too that the aftermarket fenders are of poor quality/fit. I just don't know if junk yard replacements in Ohio (winter road salt country) are going to be easy to find in shape good enough to justify a transplant.
Has anybody actually...
Has anyone replaced their front fenders with aftermarket (LMC truck, JC Whitney) and what are your opinions of the quality/fit of the aftermarket fenders? Is it better to try to find a used set that aren't rusted out? (assuming it is still possible) It would be nice to have a set made of...
When i replaced a rusted out clutch line and originally bled the slave my clutch was easier to push also. After bleeding a second time to make sure all air was removed the clutch went back to normal and was slightly harder to push again. You may want to try bleeding again sounds like you still...
Dad's truck did exactally as you describe and had a lack of power. The problem was a bad injector. The sound also was less prevalent when running faster than idle.
My truck had the same symptoms when the injection pump was going bad. I dont think your injectors are the problem. I think its time for a rebuild on the injection pump. Believe me my truck had exactally the same symptoms and once the rebuilt pump was on she was purring like normal again.
I dont currently have a good picture of the real thing although if you look close you can get the idea. The other pic is a drawing I made to give to the guy who built my bed.
Mine run through a box as well. It does have some muffling effect but so does a Y pipe. The box is the easiest and cheapest way to get around all the overpriced Y pipe and elbows. It is bolted down with springs on top like a wet line kit for a semi truck. This allows flex while holding securely...
I dont recall what size wrench it was but if you have a wrench big enough (it was like 1 7/8") it will work. We just used a regular big ole wrench. Even the cheap big wrenches are heavy enough for the fan bolt.
I have considered coming down myself but it is a busy time of year at work and at home. I was thinking if I did come down I'd just get a hotel room nearby. Not much for camping and dont own a camper anyway. I probably wont be able to decide until the very last minute when I can judge better what...
Start with the simple stuff first. What pressure cap are you using on the radiator? How old is the cap? The radiator develops pressure as it heats up so a little bit of coolant at the neck could be coming from a cap that isnt sealing well or from the expansion tank tube not sealing well. You...
I would love to have a factory style plastic cup holder that has more than one cup hole. You could copy the plastic cup holder and add an extra cup hole toward the passenger. The rapid prototyping machines could easily make one. It could even be taller so it is closer to the top of the seat but...
I'm with tuckerd on this one. I also put the stant in my truck and have had no problems with it. My truck also runs cooler than it did with the old thermostat. It runs down where I think it should run with the new thermostat.
First of all try this stuff on the oil fill tube:

It is not silicone but works better in my opinion.
Second I had a problem with oil pressure also. I replaced the sending unit and it was...
