Shackle reverse
I haven't done any twist tests with it but it does feel maybe a bit more limber. Ride was improved by maybe 5%. Every little bit counts on these old beasts. It does seem to track down the road better though. And hopefully not beat up front suspension components as bad as these...
I have relisted my truck on ebay. If anyone is interested in a nice solid rust-free CA truck with lots of time and money already invested, check it out!

Anyone know off the top of their head where to source a remote oil filter mount that will accept the 7.3L stock oil filter? I believe it is a 1 1/2"-16 thread. Is that correct?
Mike
Does anyone know the exact routing of oil from the pump through the filter and into the engine on the idi?
I am wondering if the filter is a "high pressure" filter or if the bypass bleeds off excess pressure before the filter.

Price
Yes, price. Any of you boys who have done a rebuild or other major work can agree with the value of a truck that has had something major done.
Here in california, that is a lot of truck for the money. How much do the na-sayers think a 32 ford that probably books for $3500 sells for in...
Not sure how many of you guys noticed my ad on ebay, but it is time to let the truck go. Really hate to sell it with all the time and money that has been invested but have other projects needing my attention. I know it sounds a bit pricey but also consider the cost of rebuilding an engine and...
Line
Most of the auto parts stores also carry a "ford quick connect" repair kit with like an 18" section on line and a fitting or a piece of line and 2 barbed connectors. The can also order you a whole bulk roll of the stuff.
That is what I did when I was in may fuel system eliminating the...
Pumps / Cam
There's always the approach of making money while the customer does your R&D too :backoff
I know this is off topic, but what about a change in cam profile? Everyone seems to avoid this topic on the IDI.

Pumps
I find this all very interesting and have been wondering about the pumps myself.
Oregon Fuel Injection did the pump on my truck for the previous owner and on the receipt it says "turn up for banks turbo".
If you are spewing Black Smoke, what else can a pump provide? I want to learn as...
Value
I think that tom is right on the money. Even here in california. I bought mine over 2 years ago now and I remember them being 7K -8K with no turbo and pretty rough bodies. If it had a turbo, some wheels and tires, and some fly by night paint touch ups it was right at 10K.
I was able to...
Truck Value
Tom, no need to shut up. I think it is great for us to keep a fresh pespective on what the current market is on our trucks.
I was just throwing this post up because I'm about to enter in to some real penny pinching times and was just curious what some of you thought a beast like...
6.9 7.3 differences
Can someone point me to some info on the plusses and minuses of each engine and different opinions on building a the ultimate engine?
I had a local diesel machine shop here tell me that they used to sleeve tons of 7.3 and 6.9's, so I thought the 6.9 has the same cavitation...
Stupid ?
Ok, so the drainage holes in "some" of the valley pan designs are insufficient to handle the volume of oil returning from the turbo. All is making perfect sense to me on this. When oil backs up in the pan, doe it typically overflow out the top of the pan through the CDR Hole and then...
The Warden
Hey "The Warden", I was just in you neck of the woods this evening. Rolled right through Pacifica on our way to and from Half Moon Bay for a little bank fishing and relaxation.
Mike
Well, as title suggests my vacuum pump crapped out on me today. What a dangerous situation, especially if you were towing a trailer and this happened!
Luckily the pump is pretty easy to come by here in the Bay Area Ca.
One item to note that I had not thought of: I see how these trucks are...
Cable Size
The stock hot side cable between the battery and starter is 3/0.
I had a new end put on that cable for a single battery hookup and then had a 3/0 ground cable made up for the pass side battery. I lost the driver battery and am running a single Odyssey 2150. This battery kicks butt...
