Time to sell the truck - 89 Crew Cab 4x4 w Stacks

Not sure how many of you guys noticed my ad on ebay, but it is time to let the truck go. Really hate to sell it with all the time and money that has been invested but have other projects needing my attention. I know it sounds a bit pricey but also consider the cost of rebuilding an engine and other ad ons and it is clear that it is a lot of truck for the $$.

Yes, price. Any of you boys who have done a rebuild or other major work can agree with the value of a truck that has had something major done.

Here in california, that is a lot of truck for the money. How much do the na-sayers think a 32 ford that probably books for $3500 sells for in the real world? Book and year mean nothing in reality. I saw plenty of 94/95's in that price range that are in no where near the condition of this truck.

Well, actually, it seems that with a truck of this vintage the value doesn't go up drastically for having major work done to it. Having major work done to it is par for the course with a lot of these older beasts, especially by the time they've rolled past the 200K mark. On its second engine? No shocker there.
Not knocking your truck, as its a really nice rig and you've obviously done a bunch of work. I think you said it yourself, "HERE IN CALIFORNIA...". There was a discussion a while back about truck values in different markets. Your best bet in getting what you want for it will probably be in your own neck of the woods.
Hate to say it, and I do love my IDI, but if I was going to drop 13 large on a truck it would not be an IDI no matter what condition. My dos centavos.

its worth what someone wants to pay for it. there might be someone out there was dreaming of this exact truck. $10K these days SEEMS to be chump change for allot of folks.

The price puts more than 50% of the buyers out of range. No bank is going to finance a 15 YO truck for $13K. So someone is going to have the cash to buy it. I wonder how many Americans really have $15k in their bank account?

I agree with Travis. Stick to you guns. The right buyer will come along. It may not be thru ebay. All it needs is a little paint touch-up and some upholstery work and it will be good as new...at a fraction of a new truck's price.

No bank is going to loan $5K for a truck that old. So most buyers will either have to take out a signature or already have the money saved up because they know what they're looking for. And if they know what they're looking for and the amount of work they DON'T have to do, yours is a good deal.

When I bought my daughter's truck, to look at it you'd thought I paid too much for it. But it had over $6K worth of mechanical work done to it that I didn't have to do. I just did the paint and interior work and it's good to go for a long time.
