    clutch holding power...

I have the 400/900 clutch, and it doesn't hold the stuff I've got done to the truck. The Con-OFE costs more, but it's very much worth it. Seems to be the most common clutch used by us Cummins guys. I'm stepping up to the Con-FE, but I'm sure you don't need it.

    GUAGE READINGS

I don't know what it is stock, but I think you're probably looking from 650-750 on the pyro and 5-8 lbs of boost at 65. There are many factors that will change this like a plugged catalytic converter, dirty injectors, and elevation. The higher the altitude, the higher the pyro.

    Industrial Injection bad

The screws holding the magnetic timing pickup on the timing ring fell out. No fault of the customer, no customer service. The whole thing is at dieselram.com under General Diesel (VP44 from Industrial Injection STAY AWAY!!!). Pictures are included.

    Industrial Injection bad

Posted up on dieselram.com is a thread about a guy who bought a II VP44, and it went out in 10 months. Poor workmanship seems to be the cause, and II has given no customer support. If they sponsor this site, this will be removed quite rapidly. If not, know that II has been building some shotty...

    Synthetics worth it?

340,000 was my switch to HDD 3000 AMSOIL with their high filtration filter. Never too late to switch over. Yes, it'll eventually be worn out. But might as well get 700,000 miles or more out of it huh? Synthetics have been proven to make things last longer. There's just a few sticklers who'll...

    PDR HX40 ?

High Tech Turbo (htturbo.com). Get a good hybrid with either a 14 or 16 housing. That's the route I'm taking.

    is 212 miles too many??

Mine had 340 when I started building more power.

Buying a 94 whats it take to get it to the same as a 97

They're all the same except for the fuel plate, delivery valves, injectors, and a few minor things. Get a higher hp plate (commonly called torque plate, or make your own), 215 injectors, 191 delivery valves, get the timing advanced, bigger exhaust and call it good. You can get 800 ft lbs pretty...

    Noise Level

Mine isn't very loud. Run good synthetic oil, it actually made mine quieter. As long as you have a muffler and a silencer ring it's good. My gas motor truck is louder.

    HP/Torque numbers guess

Cold air intake, ATS Arc-Flow, 15* timing, #100 fuel plate, 3000 GSK, 191 DVs, Dynomite Diesel DDP3 90 hp injectors, 4" exhaust.

    HP/Torque numbers guess

I rack my brains every other day calculating and pondering this question. How much power and torque does my truck make? A dyno is getting put in 120 miles from me, but won't be there for a few more months. What do you guys think? You can see all my mods in my signiture. I guessed from 430-450...

    Funky sounding above 2600

You shoulda heard the rich kid in the eclipse making funny sounds while I was 5 car lengths in front of him (and blowin soot all over the car daddy paid for). It may have a turbo, but it weighs 7200 lbs! Get over it kid.

    Funky sounding above 2600

I thought it may be my lift pump goin south. Kinda had me concerned, but as long as there are other 12Vs that do the same thing I'm not so worried. ;Sweet

    Basic info from everyone

I had it floored in all the way to 85 while racing some eclipse, and forgot to look at the pyro. My mistake, but it didn't hurt anything. Only happened once. I keep it under 1450. You didn't answer my questions :backoff ...

    Funky sounding above 2600

When my truck is under hard acceleration it starts to sound like a glass packed V8 at high rpm. It doesn't pop or miss, just kind of an inconsistent growl. Anyone else’s truck like this? It may be the dual stacks amplifying it too.

    Basic info from everyone

I was just wondering what you guys run for oil pressures (idle, high rpm), EGT (idle, shutdown temp after a hard run, highway at 75, highest it's ever been), and boost pressure (highway at 75, max pressure). My oil pressure runs 40 at idle, 50 at around 2500. My EGTs are 270 at idle, shut it...

    5th gear gone

I was having some tranny trouble, and it just felt worn out. I replaced my stock clutch with a South Bend because it was slipping. That changed everything. It doesn't grind a little when going into third anymore, and smoothed out the shift to fourth. Could be because my pilot bearing was worn...

    23 MPG Highway towin' trailer

With all my mods, I usually get 16-17 in town. Never calculated highway mileage. I know that it gets much much better mileage pullin a 11,000 lb trailer than our 06. No offense, but I hate 24Vs.

    pressure NEEDED at inj pump.

I'd stick with the stock lift pump. I see Piers has replacement ones for $130 before shipping. There are a lot of highly modded trucks that do just fine with the stock pump. I've heard of people installing electric lift pumps, then turning around and taking them off. I'm sticking with my...

    life expectacy of 97 12v 2500

My truck has 345,000 miles, and it's done most everything. Hundreds of trips to the dump, hauling a 11,000 lb trailer, driving 30 miles over a steep pass every day for years, drag racing and so much more. I just started cranking it up in March, and I run the best oil I can find to help extend...
