I think you're missing what I'm asking. I don't mind the rough ride of the truck. Pulling a camper with 800lb tongue weight behind an f350 dually shouldn't make you sound like you're stuttering while driving down the highway. I'll let the shop close to work check it out and see what they think.
Ok, with my camper hooked up i'm diggin into the rubber stoppers real good. I stood on the bumper today while hooked up and I couldn't jump and get the truck to move any.
My truck unloaded rides like I've got wood wheels on the rear. There is no give in the suspension at all and a rough road will rattle your teeth. The thing is when I hook my 28 ft camper to it truck will bounce and you can feel evey movent of the trailer tires. This camper shouldn't be heavy...
Ditto on the alternator. I just went through the same problem a while back. Installed new vr with new alt. and after truck warmed up voltage needle would peg out and then fluctuate with rpms. Changed vr three times and finally changed alternator and all is fine now. That's been a couple of...
Mine howls constantly too after truck has warmed up. Would be nice to have it cooling good without sounding like a jet on take-off. I can definately feel the power loss.
Man that is one cool truck!! That video made my day for sure. Sure like to see people's videos of their projects and trucks and this is among the best I've seen. The sound, the pipes, the paint, the smoke, just awesome!!!!!
Can't afford a new one right now so if I could get a few more months out of this one it would help me alot. Do you think the JB Weld idea would give me a little time? Never done any soldering before. What do I need to get to do this job?
Put a new water pump and lift pump on today and somehow accidentaly knocked a pinhole in the radiator taking the fan off. The leak is middle ways down and dead center of the fan . Question is can I use JB Weld or is a radiator shop repair in order?
On pass. side of tranny behind the tin heat shield is a plug with wires. Can anybody tell me what these are for because the insulation is gone on just about all of the individual wires and bare copper is all that's left where it enters the harness. I'm trying to diagnose this hard shifting and...
Yea, the light is working. I've read that there is also a speed sensor either on the tranny or the rear axle that could cause hard shifting. The tach is working fine, but the speedo has some bounce untill it gets to about 30 or 40 mph. I also think it's reading about 5mph slower than I'm...
Thanks for the replies. The od light has never blinked, but I've had erratic shifting patterns in the past. The fluid appears ok but has a bit of a burned smell to it. Think that may be causing some problems? After replacing tach sensor and FIPL I did notice it is shifting a lot firmer in all...
Anybody got any advice on what's causing my tranny to shift a little too hard? I've replaced the tach sensor and just installed a new FIPL and got it set to 1.07 volts closed and 3.92 wot. It's changing gears at about 2500 rpms and shifts a little too hard and worries me that it may damage...
They ran me $162.50 plus tax. These are new and not reman injectors. Got them from Dieselcare because they are reasonable and the cheapest I could find here locally. Didn't want to risk rebuilt injectors but they run $129.00 there.
Replacing my old injectors and would like to know what I can look for to tell if they are bad. Got 4 out so far and 3 of them are real wet with diesel dripping off the spray area. I do see a good bit of carbon on them too. Just curious and appreciate yall's response.
The drain valve at the bottom of my water separator has developed a nasty leak lately so I checked it out and now it's worse. There's a little nut on the inside that seems to hold a threaded brass fitting going through the bottom and I can't get this thing to stop leaking. Just my luck as I was...
Well I took the alternator back and exchanged it for another today and drove it a while and all is well so far. I plan on driving the truck to work tomorrow and I'll get a chance to warm it up real good. I sure hope I'm right but I think that alternator was just putting out too much when it got...
The problem is still occurring. Truck has been fine with no electrical problems at all. Abouth a week ago I went to leave work and wouldn't start so I got a jump and realized on the way home it wasn't charging. Took the alternator off and Autozone checked and confirmed it was bad so I bought a...
