    1990 Ford F 350 Super Cab Truck

    Truck will set and run but as soon as I start down the road it stops no fuel, I check the fuel filter and it is half full usually full right to the top. Took the line off the exit side of the filter no fuel comes out. Is it the fuel pump? Thanks Curt

    Alternator

    I unhooked the wire that runs from the solenoid to the alternator peg on the regulator and still getting 12.8 volts to the batterys with that wire unhooked. I touch the wire to the post and it goes up to 17 to 18 volts I will get a new regulator.

    Had the alternator tested at 3 different parts stores all came up with it putting out over 13 volts. checked the batterys with the volt- meter with the truck running and warm almost 18 volts. Put the +wire from the meter on the large post on the alternator and the - on the engine block same...

    I put a monatary switch to work my glow plugs. When I push the switch shouldn't I be able to check the amount of voltage going to the glow plugs Thanks Curt

    Ok I will do that. Thanks I got it all the upgrade done I rechecked the volts and you were right I wasn't getting a good ground Now I am getting 12 at both batterys and 12 at the alternator when I check that.

    I opened the loom and traced the big wire from the alternator to a plug did you cut the big black wire out and run it direct to the solenide Thanks Curt

    I tested both batterys and I am getting a reading of over 14 at a idle when I checked the big lead on the alternator to groung I got zero

    I see post on how to do it to a 86 or 88 how about a 90 mine has the white and looks like a green might be blue on the same post that's the way it was when I got the truck
