Question: does your ZF5 have the external clutch slave cylinder or internal? My '89 has the internal cylinder and I'm not a fan.

Yes, the diesel ZF5 and the T19 have the same external slave cylinder. Other than a U joint and a flywheel/clutch/pressure plate, the ZF5 is "plug and play".....the ZF5 issue is first and reverse are too high.

Here is a shot of my 91 F250. It is in really nice survivor condition. I have had it for about 10 years now.

Here’s my ‘85 F250 6.9l 2wd and my ‘01 F350 7.3l. Both have been great trucks.
