My high idle switch has started to not always kick off. I could just get off highway and it'll still be engaged. Anyone have any ideas on a fix for this or should I source a used one from eBay?

When the high idle switch fails, it'll fail in one of two ways. The electric part shorts out and it'll never work, or a groove has worn in on the shaft and it's getting stuck.
Grab a tiny wrench and rotate the shaft half a turn, see if it stops doing it.

If it's still staying engaged, then it's probably being electrically told to stay on, like bad coolant sensor or wiring shorted to hot.

Cdd sells them, or you can connect a switch, or your sending unit by the fuel filter is bad...

to add to this, the next time you experience this, keep the truck running and see if the cold advance is still on, youll hear a change in engine if its charged.
or simply use a miltimeter and find out if its a case of a sticky solenoid, or a failed switch

I'll rotate the arm back in some, I took it out when I installed my classic diesel design up pump so hopefully it just needs to come back down some

I can unplug the cold advanced when it's running?
