Gentleman,

I plan to head to the coast this weekend to grab some parts from a 1985 F250 with the 460v8. I need a bench seat and decals for my truck, planning on grabbing fenders for @chillman88 and wanted to see if anyone else needs some parts. Has a clean-ish interior, dash looks ok. I’ll be taking Betsy so can only fit stuff in my bed (cap on).

Let me know!

I have an entirely different request. I need information. I have the exact same truck cap but know nothing about it. Perhaps the owner of the truck might know who made the truck cap or the model? Thanks in advance.

Now that canopy is something I'd truly be interested in. But not something I'd have any money for right now. so probably a moot point. LOL

I’ll take a look at make.
@Selahdoor If I can strap it on my cap I can drag it with me.

He is taking it to scrap once I’m done with it!

That would be just too cool! Too bad I don't live closer. I could give you some ratchet straps. In fact, if you get it somehow, I'll give you the straps anyway! LOL

Since these have the tie down spots on the bed I can strap it down. Just gonna be careful not to crack it! I’m going to look like one hot mess going down the street.

Actually, @Exhumis I hadn’t looked at it before but its the same as on my truck. Has a label in the back left of the glass painted black that say Leer, Des Moines, IA. So run of the mill brand. Not too sure if there is a model. I will snap a picture of mine when I get home

The cap looks very similar to the old Ford factory caps. I had one years ago, they were super heavyweight.
If the grille is decent, might be worth saving, it's the most common thing damaged in most accidents and fairly expensive to buy new. Even those rectangular headlights if they're good. If you're digging deep, that 4spd and associated parts will fit a diesel by swapping bells. They're good tranny's.

@catbird7 thanks. Best bet for me is to pull the cap off my truck and reinstall that one and pack it out. So far I’m taking the seat, hub caps, dash pieces, gauges (if good brand), entire front clip including lights.

If I have time I want to see if the power steering pump looks okay. After that, I will pull stuff until I run out of day light or the wife beckons me.

I’ll measure them up when I’m there. $20 plus shipping?
That sounds great! Shoot me a PM when it's convenient!!

Most of the canopy companies are different fronts for the same manufacturer (Leer, A.R.E, and Covermaster sold the exact same caps for our trucks. My blue ARE and brown covermaster are the same fiberglass mold, and same windows.) and most were made in south bend / elkhart.
