I finally got a little time to work on my truck, I built a tool and pulled the body mounts, but the bolts are trash. Does anybody just use some grade 8 or 10 bolts and cut the threaded part of the collar off? The bolts and those push together things are not going back on there. Just wondering what options are out there

My bolts were fine but you can definitely just use some good bolts and washers.

After I pulled the bushings apart I cut the little flare off so they weren't a press fit anymore and just slip together. It's easy to see once you get them apart.

This is what I was trying to get at. I believe this is what I'll do.

I'm redoing cab mount brackets and mounts on my truck. You geneally don't want the bolt to be touching the rubber or pulling against the rubber bushing. With rubber mounts you use shims with poly mounts you can just use bolts and washers.

I looked around various stores yesterday for bushing shims for a cheaper method than LMC. And I considered what you and chillman are suggesting. But it will be on my mind. I'm ordering from LMC.
I could get a similar size steel pipe as the shim and run it through the inside as the sleeve but overall decided on the reproduction hardware.

FYI.
I checked home depot and tractor supply today. At minimum if you aren't bothered by the factory considerations I mentioned you would want a 1/2 4" flange bolt and the same size and thickness washers as OEM. They didn't have either of them.

If they had those I was considering doing that for my truck because tractor supply had the bushing sleeve for the grommet.

I ordered from LMC the replacement hardware. Here's the PN list for an 89.
