So I just got done doing new glow plug on my 1993 with the 7.3l in it. I have had a diesel leak up in the valley between the heads and intake manifoldsince I got the truck a year and half ago. I was leaking when I got just didn’t know where because of all the leaks I have fixed. Well I got curious today cleaned everything off with brake cleaner and wiped the valley dry. Changed out my bad glow plugs and restarted it. Looked for the leak and it is coming from out from under a plastic cap near the top of the injection pump and running down the side. It is the cap by where the injection lines are coming off of the pump. In my pictures (sorry they are upside down) You can see the moisture coming from the plastic cap. Can I pull the cap and tighten what is underneath it or do i need to take it to an injection shop and have them do it?

If it’s the one circled in red, don’t try tightening it because it will only leak worse. There is an o ring behind the lock nut under the tamper proof cap. This o ring is replaceable but it requires removing the top cover, some of the governor assembly and surgically clean tools and work space.

From my personal experience, when an IP starts leaking, it's usually worn enough that it should be rebuilt. I'm not saying that this is always the case, but just in general.

If it is the red circled one in wes's Pic it's a pretty easy fix you take the top cover of the pump loosen the locknut and back the Allen head out but be careful there is a little spring inside the Allen head bolt thattcould drop ontointhe pump and remember how it goes if I remember right it has a spring on top and bottom you will see what I'm talking about if you pull the cover but keep it clean nitrile gloves and all and clean rags to put it on then it's a o ring on the lock nut this is also a good time to turn the fuel up a little if you need

You can get a DB2 reseal kit for like $20 I think? And replacing that isn't hard at all.
You might try tightening the nut there just a hair and see if it stops... I've never seen them leak there. Usually it's from the side cover or weep-hole on the bottom.
