Anyone know the difference between the V Belt setups on the 6.9 vs the 7.2? I ask because a friend has a 6.9 he’s putting back together with some missing bits and he’s wondering the the 7.2 v belt setup can be used Mostly because he can get it cheap.

Pulled the whole shooting match out which was easy. Remove fuel lines and wires and it just fell off.
Pulled the vacuum pump and low and behold the mounting bolt hole is revealed with no bolt in it. The other one had vibrated loose it looks like.
I'm just a bit baffled that the previous owner...
So I'm finally able to get back to working on my truck courtesy of a job I had for 3 weeks before getting furloughed BUT as I'm effectively paid to work on my truck I'll call it a win.
Anyway, working on the water pump when I noticed that the whole assymbly that holds the Alternator, Vacuum...
On a limb but I saw this happen with a 6.9 that blew out one of the piston cooling nozzles. Granted that was on an early block with the pressed in nozzle but just tossing it out there.
Make sure the hoses are all well attached and not split at the ends. May just be my luck but I've had two different trucks wind up with splits that caused a leak.
Read up on steering geometry, death wobble, and give the FAQ's and tech forum a look before you go look at it. Watch a few videos on death wobble to see what a bad setup can do and just how quick it can get out of hand.
