This is a good strong running truck. I've had it for almost a year now and it's been a great truck. It is the regular cab/long bed (8 ft) combination. This would be the perfect truck for someone looking for a work or contractor vehicle. It has a bench seat from a newer powerstroke truck that is...
Turns out the heater core wasn't leaking at all. After a quick check under the hood it was clear to see that the upper radiator hose had a huge split in it. It has the date 6/21/91 printed on it so I guess it was time for it to be changed anyway.
So after I get the new hose put back on, how...
New symptom to add to the list...
Yesterday as I was driving home from my softball game I started to get a very strong smell of coolant in the cab. Shortly after that I noticed alot of steam/fog coming from my vents and filling up the truck. From what I've read, this means I have a bad heater...
I'm looking to swap a 5.9 12 valve in place of my F250's 7.3 liter. I found a motor from a 1995 Dodge 2500 with 160,000 miles on it. The guy has it advertised as a long block only, no IP or injectors. He's asking $300 for it. Would this be a good starting point for a swap? I would probably just...
I put a coolant system pressure tester on my truck today and pumped it up to 13 psi. The needle stayed steady at first but then slowly began dropping. I could also hear a very faint hissing sound like there was a leak in the system. It just got done raining here so I couldn't get underneath to...
Eight new Motorcraft ZD-9 glow plugs from DieselFiltersOnline.com. Grand total to my door was $88.87.
Hopefully I'll get these installed in the next couple days. I found 2 of my existing GP's did not test positive for continuity when using a test light from the battery. If everything goes as...
I know here in Maryland, it's illegal to have any kind of obstruction to your lights. My younger brother had the VHT stuff on his tails and he was constantly getting hassled by the cops about it.
The whole kit went on smoothly without any problems. I ended up having about 9" of the hose left over, as well as the copper washers and hardware that I didn't use.
I would definitely recommend this kit to anyone who's got leaky return lines.
I'm interested in doing this swap, except it would be from C6 to ZF5. Does the trans have to come from a diesel truck? Or would one from a gasser work as well.
