    Engine pics?

There's quite a few pics in my engine rebuild thread https://www.oilburners.net/threads/head-gasket-replacement-turns-into-a-total-rebuild.77694/

wanted: someone who can work on a R12 system in College Station area.

Yep, pretty much the same stuff as envirosafe. Nothing works better in an R-12 system, not even original R-12.

I doubt it, I always charge by weight, particularly with envirosafe as high side pressures are lower than original R-12 specs.

I hear ya, I have a vacuum pump and gauges, and the first couple of envirosafe jobs I did I pulled and held a vacuum first, as you'd do with any other refrigerant. I blew an o-ring on my benz and lost everything and thought "what the hell, I'll try it without pulling a vacuum first" the...

How about you? Get system evacuated (should be almost free for r-12 recovered or around $40). Open system to air (yes I said open to air) maybe add a few ozs of mineral oil if you think a lot has leaked out, fill with recommended amount of envirosafe and voila! you're nice and cool ...

    Balancing a 6.9 rotating assembly

I paid $350 to get mine balanced, this was almost two years ago. the difference before and after is noticeable, there's less vibration at idle and at speed.

    IDI/Windstar Electric Fan conversion help

I thought I should update this thread. I've removed the electric fans and gone back to a mechanical fan with a US MOTOR WORKS 22601 fan clutch. I love the idea of the e-fans, the higher engine temps are great for burning alternative fuels, BUT! the e-fans just cannot keep my truck from over...

    rings?

X 2 on the sealed power. One thing I wish I'd done is order one size over rings, or even 7.3 rings and then hand gap the rings individually. The rings come pre-gapped these days so if you have a cylinder that is on the large edge of spec and a ring that was cut on the large end of spec, the...

    Rabs problem?

Maybe plug the rabs connector back in and see if they still lock up, if so I'd try power bleeding a couple of quarts of brake fluid through the rabs valve and the rears--maybe you'll get lucky and bow some crud out! I assumre the fronts are unaffected?

    Alternative diesel fuel

I've run 1000's of gallons of WVO in my Benz and my IDI. all of it centrifuged and de-watered with a fluid driven centrifuge. I run two-tank systems and start and shut down on diesel or bio-diesel. I would like to clean up some wmo and add a quart or so per fill up to my diesel tank just to...

First impression towing with 6.9 NA

Back to the brake issue. Our front calipers have these horrid, rubber filled, metal rails that need to be greased all the time or your front brake pads will drag constantly. It's probably not the major issue you're having, but do it anyway as it most likely needs it. Pull the calipers off...

First impression towing with 6.9 NA

Pretty close to floored, though I can hit just over 70 on flats without wind if I need to pass someone.

First impression towing with 6.9 NA

My freshly rebuilt 6.9 will pull my 4500 lb. travel trailer along all day at 63mph, 3000 rpm, though hills will slow it down. Mileage hauling is between 10 & 12, empty I never really pay attention because it is short trips or plowing snow. I don't mind the 6.9 but my 99 powerstroke is a whole...
