    I would strongly suggest pulling the seat, roll the carpet and insulation back, unbolt and remove the dog house. I've done it with the dog house installed....once. I won't pull my transmission without removing it now. It's well worth the 5 minutes spent. Good luck!

    The "book" stated I needed the 1.3 inch bearing but I in fact needed the 1.5 inch bearing. Which one did you need for your 2wd?

    I just did mine yesterday as a matter of fact. There was no difference in carrier bearing direction. I did not put the shield back on. It seemed to me it would not get tight enough to stop dirt and mud from entering the bearing so I left it off. I don't know if that was a good decision or not...

    Admittedly I may be way of base here but, when I first got my truck it was doing the same thing. The culprit was bad glow plug wiring causing the glow plugs to short cycle and not heat. Just a thought....
