Update....
I borrowed a mechanical pressure tester from a friend today. Great news!! Pressure was maintaind at 50+ PSI. Thanks so much for the help guys. I will be installing a permanent guage on the dash tonite.
Thanks again,
Jamie
Are there any other telltale signs that I can look for in an attempt to confirm or deny my worst fears? Also, would you recommend suing an additive when I add new oil today? Maybe Lucas Oil stabilizer?
Thanks guys. Hopefully my diagnosis is premature. At no point did a check engine light come on. What else could cause the engine to "drag" when turning over? Is this all a coincidence and maybe my starter is on the way out?
I will head to work today and grab a mechanical gauge. I gotta...
So my oil pressure issues have escalated. Earlier this week I posted on some erratic readouts on my OEM oil pressure gauge..... I hoped that they were a result of a compromise in the wiring system. Anyway, earlier today my gauge read zero absolute zero for about thirty seconds before I caught...
Yes, I know the factory gauge is a glorified dummy light. Having said that, what are some potential causes for inconsistencies in the readings. Sometimes, the needle hovers at the low end and sometimes it stays within normal. I did check the level, the truck seems to be working very well...
Over and over I read negative reviews on Autolite GP's and anything other than Beru and Motorcraft. Well, the parts store where I work is an Autolite dealer so I had to find out for myself..... It looks as though I should have listened.
After only three months, and less than one thousand...
Thanks for the help!! Nextly can somebody outline what size socket and or other tools I may need to remove the old injector? Besides the brushes of course.....
Jamie
Thanks for the reply. Stupid question time.... Will this leak also cause a loss of prime in the fuel system? Unfrotunately I did run the truck for quite some time after yesterdays operation so I am reluctant to disturb and reuse these o-rings. When starting this a.m., there was clearly air...
Finally took the plunge and got a Stanadyne return line install kit. It was super easy to install. I went ahead and cleaned up the valleys on the intake before firing it up for the first time after installing the kit so that it would be easy to spot any leaks. Everything looked good upon...
Could somebody tell me what the sender, which is located at the front of the engine on the driver side just below where the head meets the block is for? On the weekend, I broke the connector terminal off of it. All gauges seem to be working normally. The truck is a 1994.
Thanks in advance...
Let me start by saying thank you. Thanks for all the help up to this point. This forum and the wealth of knowledge and experience are an invaluable resource.
Could somebody kindly outline where I can find the oil pressure sender/switch? I need to replace this until I can retrofit a proper...
Does anybody know of a good way to clean up diesel fuel from hard to reach areas in the top side of the engine? I have a strong odour in the cab as a result of my last priming job and was hoping there was a product that may be applied to allow the fuel to evaporate more readily.
Thanks in...
Roger that. I know this thing will be bullet-proof once I get her figured out, if I get time today I will trace each wire and whip up a schematic to help generate some more ideas.
