    New TDI Beetle Owner

So became the owner of a 2001 Beetle TDI yesterday. Have owned and been around diesels of all types including on road and off. This is my first experience with a small diesel like this. When we first drove it it had no boost and couldn't get out of it's own way. After a little research i found...

    88 F-350 Brakes

Hey everyone. It's been awhile since I have been around. I am researching a brake problem and didn't see anything quite like I have so far. The brake pedal went nearly to the floor, but I still have some brake to stop if I take it very carefully. I looked at the MC and it was empty. OK must have...

    Fuel Problem???

I put furl in the front tank tonight and got on it. Woo wee Black smoke and power galore. Hehe. I was coming up a hill just half throttle and switched back to rear tank. Wow power dropped off noticeably. At least now I have a good idea where to start.

    Fuel Problem???

I spoke to a diesel mechanic and he mentioned it could be getting air. I have replaced return lines and o-rings. When that happened the problems were starting after it sat overnight. I do have a little weeping of fuel around the sensor plug on top of the filter housing. I read where there is an...

    Fuel Problem???

God idea about checking the light at startup. I know it did work because I would see it come on during long hard pulls after I put the 40 gal rear tank on, but it would keep running. I turned the mount in the top of the tank to get better alignment on the hoses and I never saw it come on again...

    Fuel Problem???

So it happened again. I'm running along fine, and start getting into the throttle more, floor boarding it to see if it will make smoke (fuel turned all the way up, thanks Moose). All of a sudden It starts to die. I get on the side a keep running slow limping home. I stop for about 10 mins...

    Duralift on its way out

I had a used Holley Red on for a couple years before it started to periodically stop. I then put on a Carter 4389. It was way cheaper than a Holley. Nearly identical hook up, and fits nicely on the rail. So far works great. Just loud.

    Temperature gauge and missing Issue

Well the miss was the filter. Good thing. Still haven't looked at the temp thing. Found fuel coming out of the fuel heater plug at top. I saw some info that there is an o-ring that can be replaced for that. Going to give it a try. Here's something I don't understand. I have an E pump to make...

    Temperature gauge and missing Issue

Its been awhile guys. Had a weird problem this weekend. Factory temp gauge was pegged at hot which brought on the engine light. The after market gauge showed normal temp bewtween 180-190. After market sensor is installed in top of water pump. I checked under teh hood. No sign of leak. Water...

    Holley fuel pump

I put the Carter in. It's a great kit. Everything you need was there. It's a lot quieter than the Holley. So far working well. The tech line was great too. I called them to see if it was rated for diesel fuel and the y said it was. The only downside was they had 3/8" hose fitting that no amount...

    Holley fuel pump

Need a pump today so I'm trying a Carter P4070. The tech line said it is compatible with diesel.

    Holley fuel pump

I put a Holley red fuel pump in a few years ago. All was fine but lately the pump cuts out. The wiring is good. It just stops and then starts. I was told they are only good for gas, but I got the idea from here. I have also seen teh green Mr Gasket pumps which are cheaper, but they say fuel...
