Thanks all.
My neighbor is careful and takes care of the truck when he uses it. He does have the wherewithal to restore anything that might happen while it is in his possession.
He is the only driver of my vehicle--his knucklehead son was at the wheel of his 350 both times the axle let...
Thanks guys.
I was mostly worried about pushing the intrinsic towing capacity of the truck even though it just walks away with the load behind it.
My neighbor and friend seems to take good care of it, and brings it back shiney clean and full of diesel--and needs it only occasionally...
Periodically, a neighbor of mine needs to borrow my truck to tow/move a construction waste grinding machine (10,000# w/ pintle hitch) when one of his trucks goes down, or he gets it into a muddy spot.
His 6.0 PowerStroke F350 4x4 auto with a dump bed is presently in dry dock with a broken...
Fuel filter is not that old--replaced it when I renewed the o-ring that seals the connector for the fuel heater on top of the filter head. Will give the filter a gentle tweak and see if that helps.
The fuel lines are five or six years old--something is leaking air alright.....:dunno
When parked for over a week in a "nose-up" posture, the truck seems to ingest air. When parked "nose-down" it does not seem to suffer the problem.
Anybody else experience that?? Took a bit of cranking yesterday evening and this morning (batteries on the trickle charger all night) to get it...
Either the inspection protocols where you live are waaaaaay different, or the inspectors were knuckleheads......
I agree that having the timing and fuel/air induction looked at would be a good start.....
Dyno'd emissions tests on gas powered vehicles here in Georgia are done at 25 MPH with a 25% load on the powertrain, and a 15 MPH test with a 50% load. We do not test diesels or vehicles with a GVW in excess of 8500# here--at least so far. We read unburned hydrocarbons, carbon monoxide and...
Turn the heat up as far as you can. :backoff
The insurance company rep will stiff arm you unless you make things uncomfortable for them--simple dollars and cents for them. If PA has small claims court you might consider that as a fall back. You can represent yourself with the facts and...
