    87 F-350 Crew Cab,6.9, 5 speed ZF, 2wd, $3200 OBO

Actually, that shifter is one of a kind.....I bent the tubing and attached it to the stub shaft to get maximum knee clearance for the center seat passenger. We had four kids, so someone was in the front center fairly often. Worked perfectly.

    87 F-350 Crew Cab,6.9, 5 speed ZF, 2wd, $3200 OBO

Odometer shows 43,***, believed to be 243,***. Runs excellent, with many newer parts, including injector pump, glow plugs, injectors, block heater, batteries, radiator and more. Original 3 speed auto was swapped for 5 speed ZF from 89 F-350, with a partial rebuild (some bearings and...

thanks to OB, i now have a rebuilt and 5 speed swapped F250!

Those are the identical OP numbers I have, too. I guess that's not unusual for the 6.9? My "ENGINE" light was always coming on at idle with around 15 psi, so I put in a mechanical gauge and grounded the sender wire. Does anyone know if the "ENGINE" light will still come on if my coolant temp...

Thanks,George7.3IDI for the link. I'm guessing there's not any real difference between the s5-42 and s5-47?

thanks to OB, i now have a rebuilt and 5 speed swapped F250!

I just finished the C-6 to ZF swap myself. Love it so far. I do have a bad synchro though..... anyone know where to get teardown/rebuild info? I have a factory service book for 87 but it doesn't include the 5 speed. I'd rather not have to get another one if I don't have to.

    Testing CDR valve?

Well, I used a shop-vac on both ends, and it closed off both ways. I guess unless someone can tell me there's something wrong with it, I'm just going to keep it.

    Testing CDR valve?

I removed my CDR valve to clean it, because I don't know if it was ever done. It has grey paint overspray on it, so I'm guessing it's the original. My question is, how do I know if it's still working correctly? I can EASILY breathe through it in either direction, yet I see a spring inside when I...

    C-6 trans. questions

The valve behind the vacuum modulator was easily removed and moves without any binding. So, will I do any harm to this trans if I continue to shift it manually once in a while?

    C-6 trans. questions

The pin is there. I measured it, it's (1.705 in.) It should have a white paint spot according to the book. The book lists green, black and purple stripes as options on the modulator. I will look again on both for a color. I will also try to move the valve that the pin is supposed to be moving. I...

    C-6 trans. questions

When I removed the modulator I looked for the paint color on it as well as the rod, but could find no paint on either. I tested the modulator with a vac pump while it was removed. It moved smoothly and held vacuum fine. The kickdown linkage is hooked up and moves freely. I'm in the process of...

    C-6 trans. questions

If you can get to 50 mph in 2nd gear, please tell me how!!!! The vac modulator is getting the vacuum to it. I also put a vac pump on the modulator and it works correctly. It is an adjustable one, but it makes no difference in the shifts. That's why I decided to run it with the modulator...
