How good of a motor is it?
I had a 1997 6.5TD in a K2500. I really liked the truck. The 6.5 ran strong and was fairly easy to work on. Besides the PMD, I'd say there are two other components you're going to want to keep an eye on. The first is the harmonic balancer. Over time the rubber isolator will degrade to the...- Bob87

is this DMF worn?
For what its worth, I'm getting ready to do an E4OD to ZF swap as we speak. I had a similar dilemma. I bought the ZF from a guy and it came with a used DMF and clutch. I think the clutch was recently replaced on the donor truck because it looks pretty new. The DMF isn't as worn as yours...- Bob87

Windstar electric fan conversion
Do you notice a perceived increase in engine performance since the mechanical fan is gone? Also, I wonder if it would be worthwhile to install a switch under the dash so you could turn one of them off if you didn't need it. Looks good tho. I love upgrades that use existing parts and don't...- Bob87

Yea, I sure did get the metal remotes. After reading about the success you guys had on here with them, I had to go with the ultra start. I haven't started the install yet....been too darn cold. Thanks for the input.- Bob87

Well, honestly I've never looked for one for a Ford specifically. I put one in my wife's 99 Dakota and at the time (2004-2005) they had T-harnesses for different applications.- Bob87

Hey guys, I asked for and received an Ultra Start Remote Start system for christmas. Its been a few yeares since I've installed one of these, but there used to be t-harness kits available so you didn't have to splice any wires. Do you guys know if they are still around? I've done an hour...- Bob87

Fuel lift pump?
I also installed an airtex from oreilly's on mine. So far so good. I've read that others have had trouble with them, but I needed mine in a pinch and didn't have any choice but to use the airtex. I put 300+ miles on my truck round trip without issue a couple weeks ago. I agree on the studs...- Bob87

bought a turbo kit, have a few questions
93f250idi, Awesome job on the install. Its been about a month since you've finished it. How's it running? Any updates/tips from the install? Notice a big difference? You did install it with the engine in the truck, right? Would you do it again that way?- Bob87
