    Will this tranny work?

Please elaborate here.. I have a 95 e4od (powerstroke) bolted up to a 91 model 7.3 and adapter plate. I haven't replaced the 6 lug converter(that came with the trans) with the 4 lug needed to bolt on the 7.3 flexplate. What is the difference in the plates? Are you saying the mounting depth is...

    Flexplate Question

If this were the case it should be trashing front pumps as well. I wonder where the cracking occurs..I have read that using fully threaded converter bolts instead of shouldered ones will crack the flexplate where it attaches to the converter. The other scenerio is cracking at the crankshaft area...

    400HP

just for the sake of argument, possibly dabbling in a scientific approach..LOL . I don't have the numbers at hand, so theoretically speaking here. The ignition point of diesel is 500 degrees or so iirc. The temperature rise of compressing a given volume of air will be predictable. So if someone...

    Vacuum Pump For Us???

The diaphram from a 6.2 Chevy will bolt on. The chevy pump is driven like a distributor instead of belt drive. It is at the rear of the block where a distributor would be.. Just rob that, unbolt the diaphram and bolt on your drive setup. Be sure not to loose the oil inside the drive unit. The...

    Cooling Fans....

well, unfortunately the thread is 1-1/4 - 16 left hand on the 7.3 water pump(according to Napa's website). So that adapter will not work. One interesting thing i discovered in my search for a smaller diameter fan to fit my original fan shroud is.. a 6.2 chevy fan blade will bolt on the 7.3...

    Cooling Fans....

take a look at theses adpters/spacers. They might save some work. The thread on adapter at the bottom of the page interest me. Does anyone know if it is the correct thread? http://www.flex-a-lite.com/auto/html/spacers-adapters.html

    Billet converter

I don't know what you call a "medium duty truck". The E4OD was available at least up to a f-350,behind the powerstrokes, then evolved into the 4R100. The transmission durability will not be a concern in my application. The purpose of my question was the quality of the convertor. To realize the...

    7.3L Turbo return oil leak

I don't know what size the drain is on the other kits, but the one on my Banks non wastegated kit is a 3/4" tube. I browsed the "Help" section of the parts store and found a pcv style grommet that worked. It is 1-1/4" OD and 3/4" ID. It popped in the valley pan snug and fit the drain tube...

    Transmission Lockup

From multiple posts with these symptoms, I am suspect of the speedo input. On some of these trucks there is a speed sensor on the ring gear of the rear axle.It is used by the transmission, and ABS .The cruise control might also be affected by a bad signal.Typically the sensor needs to be removed...

    Billet converter

I have a 7.3 IDI with a non-wastegated banks on it.I am using an e4od with Baumann controller.I would like to know what stall rating you specified and how do you like it ? Stall is a product of HP and weight so the exact rpm is not really a valid answer.I am more interested in how yours is as...

    fabbing new up pipe

I plan on making it in two or three sections.I plan on getting some type of thermal coating on it as well. I think I can fab a nice product using some of these pieces. http://store.airflo.com/page2.html

    fabbing new up pipe

I hadn't noticed until you mentioned it.Hypermax Van plumbing is almost exactly like the up pipe arrangement I need.It merges and goes up the passenger side.

    fabbing new up pipe

The partial Banks turbo kit I have uses a 2.5" up pipe. I will have to make the y pipe to merge into it. Can I have 2" pipe flared enough to seal on the exhaust manifolds? They originally had 2.25" pipe. If I could use 2" pipe it would be easier to route, merge, and also keep velocity high. The...

    Old banks non wastegate parts

This is my primary reason for keeping the box.You can route clean cool air into it and not worry about trashing the filter. The box even has a water drain hole in the bottom in the event that rain is scooped in,it should not soak the filter.I actually consider the box to be the most space...
