I have a 7.3 originally NA but convertered with the hypermax turbo kit. I am looking at replacing the injection pump as I have come to the conclusion that this is the problem. Where is the best place I can get a new one. I am finding places online but want to know peoples opinions on where is the best place to buy a new one without spending an arm and a leg.

anyone here, as far as I know, would go to Conestoga, or IDIperformance/R&D.

Don't cheap out. The extra few hundred bucks are worth the longevity and customer service. A cheap IP will leave you stranded or not last. I'm partial to Justin at R&D IDI Performance, but Conestoga is good too.

Please read the Hall of Shame forum before you purchase any injection parts. Those listed in that forum got there by cheating members here. My money is spent at Conestoga Injection of Pa.Mel and the group there are world renowned for there pump builds. I'm on my second Mose pump and love every second of it.

I'm running a Moose Jr. from Conestoga myself, but don't forget Russ (Typ4) he does them as well. If the injector pump needs to replaced, don't be surprised if the injectors do too. It's usually best to replace all as a set. Expensive, I know, but unfortunately, that's how it works.

I've been happy with my R&D. Make sure you check that damn junky ass rubber o-ring on your inlet. Unfortunately I didn't pay attention so I had to replace mine twice. Just a heads up in case you were unaware as I was.

I’m going with the R&D injection pump. I have also been advised to go with a new set of injectors as well. Wasn’t looking forward to spending that much at once, but better to have it all done now. I will be doing it myself. Any special tips or certain tools to make the job easier. I’m not wanting to take it into a shop to have it done.

Once u replace the pump and injectors u will need someone to time the pump. It takes a ferret meter so u might want to find someone close to you with the proper timing meter to assist with this. You will need an 8 mm socket for the 3 small bolts behind the inspection plate on the front of your pump gear housing. You will also need a "bent" 9/16 wrench for the 3 on the back of afore mentioned housing. You do not want to take these trucks to a shop as most do not know how to time these nor do they have the proper pulse reader to do so and timing any pump by ear may work out enough to keep some smoke down but realistically u could end up with a gutless truck this way and with an upgraded pump you really want to get the best timing and fuel mileage and ALL the power of was designed to produce being how much money you will be putting into it. I am piecing my truck together AGAIN due to me rebuilding this engine and not knowing certain things about this engine as to why I joined this site to see were all I was going wrong. Good call on adding the turbo by the way. You will LOVE it especially with the fresh injectors and pump. I will be upgrading my pump and injectors as soon as funds for this are available to replace my parts store injectors and pump as I think the stock one performed better till the day it failed than this setup I currently have has ever performed

Anyone have a picture of their bent 9/16's? I'd like to get an idea how it's bent before I ruin one.

Lol. I ruined quite a few till I got it right. Best if u get some cheap harbor freight or northern tool sets and play with it. I wound up welding a 9/16nut to my work bench on the inside and hitting the wrench with a torch with closed end of wrench on nut and a steel pipe on the open end and made it look like a crescent moon. If i were at home I'd send a pic.

Simple. No point in wasting multiple wrenches.......

And It's not a necessity. The few pumps I've done, I never used any special wrench.
