Wow. Dude, you need to stop with the "I am a semi intelligent individual" stuff, cause you sound completely ignorant.
Do you have a price in mind that you want to spend? are there specifics you are looking for?2wd or 4wd? lifted or not? Cosmetics on a truck are just that, COSMETICS. If the drivetrain is well taken care of, then youre WAY ahead of the game.
Calling people "PUNKS" will get you absolutely NOWHERE. Dont be a keyboard warrior...we are ALL here for the same reason.
"Sound completely ignorant"? This is exactly what I was trying to avoid. Thank you for the insult, I imagine you don't have a truck to sell or a lead on one... I appreciate your input, have a great day.

There are plenty of truck out here in Cali, but dont expect help when you treat those youre asking help of badly. If youre looking for something that is DONE, then be specific....4wd? lifted? Color preference? Longbed or Short? Aftermarket turbo or stock. You gotta chill out with the insults and give us more info. I happen to know of a Supercab 4wd with a gear vendor all stock and an ATS turbo system..its and 86...But I would have to see if he still has it...and its not a crewcab like you want.
BTW, Thank You for your Service.

Crew cab, 4wd, SRW, long bed, manual... Don't mind if it's a 6.9 or 7.3, but I would prefer one that has already had a turbo installed. Something I can drive and not worry about. I want to eventually do a lot with it but until then I don't want something that will nickel and dime me. My time is in short supply these days. Thanks!

a 30 year old truck that wont nickle and dime. thats a good joke. needed that laugh
It's entirely possible, I've seen it... In fact I worked with a guy that had an 88' and the thing ran like a champ! No issues, the previous owner built it right and so it was a super dependable truck. I've built a 65' Falcon, a 69' Bronco and a 67' Mustang and they were all super dependable. The secret is in their simplicity! That's why I love IDI trucks, no computers no super expensive Piezo 30,000psi injectors, no insane smog equipment... My last truck was the new 6.7L, great truck, great engine... Couldn't even tell it was a diesel unless you were standing inches from it. A fuel system on that truck runs more than $8000 from Ford and I knew a couple of guys that ran some low quality fuel and damaged pumps and injectors because the tolerance was so tight. Like I said, IDI's have their quirks but they are the essence of the Diesel engine. Tons of character! I love them!

What's your price range?
You are making it sound like you expect to buy a truck that someone put around $20k into.....
Who in the hell would put that kind of money into their truck.... :Q
I stopped keeping track once I knew I was into a 5-digit number........
Those of us who have that kind of money(and time) into them aren't willing to part with them.
I have mine willed to my eldest in case something happens to me, and it'll be regularly driven until the day he gets it.
Would I sell it for what I have into it? No, I've had people offer me more than that when I was still under $10k into it, and I haven't even gotten to the bodywork.
You need to buy a solid foundation and do it yourself, especially in a CC 4X4 SRW stick.........

Good luck to you in whatever direction you decide to go.

That's exactly what I'm looking for... Not that I don't want to work on it, just that if I pull apart another vehicle in my shop my wife is going to punch me in the face! Ha! No but seriously I found a super nice one in Washington with a turbo and gear vendor... Engine was already studded, larger capacity radiator, interior was great, exterior was in good shape... Anyway, truck was awesome, but I was dumb, I told myself another one would come along. That was in 2015 and I've not seen one since in that condition for sale. All of you guys that have trucks like that hold on to them. Side note, that guy wanted $15k and I think he ended up taking $13k for it!

ill be honest, you could get a nice PSD for that price. not that there is anything wrong with an IDI powered truck but a PSD has sooooooo much more to offer when it comes to power.

To add to that ^ we're talking in stock form.
No one is debating if you can make equivalent/more power with a idi.

I have this one for sale $5500. You wanted a 2WD. I'll try to find the pics of it in the Market place. It is a S.Carolina truck, no body rust. New paint 2yrs ago, few paint runs, nothing drastic, 129K on body, 75K on engine, Banks Sidewinder turbo, GV O/U. E4OD. Interior excellent condition.

I'd really like to find a 4x4 SRW... But that truck looks like it is in pretty good shape!
