SAE J30R10 Source?

I've been searching here and searching via Google and have seen this same thread subject all over other forums, but never any links.

Question is, does anyone have a source for SAE J30R10 3/8" fuel hose to replace our in-tank shower heads (submersible application)? Particularly some place that charges less than $20 a foot?

I found a link awhile ago, but of course now that I'm planning on doing the tanks while working on the fuel system, I can't find it again...

I used 1 of these in my rear tank with a brass barb on the end for the pickup

But it is close to that $20/foot range

It is indeed cheaper than just about anything else I've found. O'Reilly's has it for $30 a foot! It's cheaper than that at NAPA, but the stores in both of the towns near me are out out of stock and can't ship it. Seems like they aren't carrying it anymore. I did find some on ebay with that part # for $25 a foot with free shipping. Grainger had it as well, but only in like 25' rolls ($$$).

I used normal fuel hose. Can't tell you the spec. Lol
Still working fine for two years. I've used some strong fuel additives.

Can you use SS over teflon? That stuff is readily available and you can get ends crimped on.

Wrong size for the suction. We use the 3/8 hose size for suction. The return is 5/16 but we do not bother with that hose. It actually is just the duck bill check valve at the end of the 5/16 tubing in the tank. We can purchase a replacement shower head on ebay most all the time too. cheaper than the expensive hose mentioned in this thread.

I had a few of the new shower heads on my watch list, but won't they also disintegrate over time? I found the correct 3/8" line at rockauto. The Gates and Dayco part numbers seem to be for the material as I noticed a bunch of different sizes, but was only looking for 3/8".

The MP-12 is also a 5/16" fitting. It's about the same price as a new shower head. If there is something different about the new shower heads that makes them last longer then it wouldn't be a bad idea. They are like $34 each though, so roughly the same price.

@icanfixall have you used these new showers heads?

Use a section of plastic truck air brake line. Works awesome. Heat it in hot water,shove it in trim and go. Clamp or not. Doesn't fall off when it cools and shrinks on

i dunno about log trucks,but chip trucks are still good,so there's 23 years.if they failed now and i replaced them,the truck should be 46 years old by the time they fail again........but i think i'll be done with her by then anyway.

I extended my rear pick up with just 30r14. I knows its barricaded and not for submersion but to think it'll be fine for a while. I'll put a piece in a jar of diesel and see how long it lasts. I used 5/16 for all my lines and got it from napa for like $2 a foot

I think it is 2 1/2 inches from the hard line to the bottom of the tank. You need very little hose.
