put some 285's on my truck today.now to figure out why when it's cold it acts like its low on fuel or something it won't run right for over an hour so it'll run away with itself like I can be at 1/4 throttle and all of a sudden it just starts dumpin smoke and before you know it it'll be at 80+if I don't let all the way off of it.i don't see any fuel leaks imma check it out tommorrw

Did you find out what was wrong with your truck? Mine just started doing the same thing but only on the rear tank, not the front. Kinda like hitting the NOS button, but I don't have NOS....

Both of yours are almost guaranteed to be air intrusion.
Selector valve could be bad, tank pickups could be broke off, etc.

I'm leaning towards a fitting on the selector switch or the lines themselves. The problem only happens on the back tank and regardless of whether the tank is half full or full. I didn't know about the O rings so will be checking those. Thanks for that one.

Correct. It's in the fitting.

Okay, I looked at my fuel lines on this truck and they are those nylon plastic ones like are on my wife's 2002 Chevy Astro. And they've got those fittings that attach with what looks like a big plastic cotter pin. IIRC, these don't have an O ring, but I didn't get a chance to take the fittings off of the selector switch either. Should I be looking for cracked fittings on the selector valve? Or can the line itself degrade enough over time?

So this brings me to a point where I might as well start looking at replacing the fuel lines altogether. Can you combine the nylon with rubber fuel lines? I don't know a whole lot about these nylon fuel lines and they just don't seem right. I know they work, but just seem weird. Looking for a bit of guidance here I guess.

Thanks

Best advice I can give you is one to search here. Lots of info and strategies for dealing with crappy fuel lines etc. second if you don't find what you need start a thread. You'll probably get more traction that way. If you look in my build thread you can see my strategy.

I'm planning on attempting to jam a male-male barbed nipple into the nylon lines so I can mate them to the new rubber lines (for connecting to the new aftermarket FSV replacement).
