Anyone that has replaced their carpet...

Are there any carpet kits to avoid? Any recommendations? They don't come with a sound deadener, right? Just bare carpet? Thoughts on bed lining instead? I have been without carpet for about a year and I don't remember what it sounded like before I tore the carpet out.. I wouldn't mind a quieter cab but I am ok with how it is currently. I was looking at the carpet kits at autozone...They're about $220. Any recommendations for a cheap sound deadener?

I've narrowed it down to.... Peal and seal for sound deadening, and this carpet kit: ACC 20595160 . It's suppose to be molded. The carpet is $136.55 to my door.

Sounds like you have a plan.
Some seem to have a slight amount of insulation on them.
The factory carpet in my 94 had very little, I pulled the carpet from the 88 I had and put it in there. Much much quieter. The 88 insulation alone is nearly 3/4".

For $130.71 to my door ( 5% discount ) I'm sure it isn't the best quality.. But I'm sure I will be able to make it work just fine. I will update with pics when it arrives.

Sound proofing is finished. I went with the cheap Peel and Seal. We'll see if it actually makes a difference. It was super easy to apply. It's cold enough that the tar is barely sticky so it's easy to work it in to place and contour the floor, then use a heat gun to melt it in. Installing carpet tomorrow.

I am following your post with great interest. I have been thinking about replacing the carpeting my 1994 F350 crew cab. It is the original carpet.

I used ACC Mats carpet from Rockauto in my truck. It's extra big so you'll have to do lots of trimming. Trim, fit, trim, fit until it fits right. I'd buy their carpet again for the price. I did the Mass-backing on mine to cut down noise. Not sure if it helped. My door panels aren't complete. And I've not noise deadened my doors yet. A muffler probably wouldn't hurt either. I put lizard skin in my truck when the cab was striped. If I pull the carpet back out I plan to do the peal and seal as shown.

Your peal and seal install looks slick! I like it a lot and wish I'd of added it to mine.

A set of leather punches to cut seat bolt holes and seatbelt holes would be extremely helpful.

Best thing I found for cutting bolt holes in carpet is a 16 penny nail held by vise grip pliers. Heat the nail with propane torch until red, then poke through anywhere you need a hole. Eliminates frizzy carpet fibers getting into bolt threads. I laid my carpet in the cab and pushed the red hot nail through from the bottom. I also used peel & seal....... Bought new carpet & headliner from "stock interiors" (Made in USA)!

I ended up helping family all day today so no carpet install. I will get it in tomorrow and definitely going to use that nail trick!

Working on getting the carpet installed. So far I am not impressed with the fitment.

Sorry for the lack of details and pictures. A HUGE storm just rolled in and put an immediate hault to my progress. The carpet fits decent, but definitely not like a glove. It's mainly the trans tunnel.. It is molded but not quite in the correct position. For the price it is definitely worth it. I will post more pictures and details when I can get back out there.
