Is there a way...fan clutch

Is there a way to lock the fan clutch up?
Mine failed..New radiator, electric fans on the way but I need to keep the truck in service until they arrive.

Some drill and through bolt it.
I'm sure it works but awful ******* the water pump when the engine abruptly shuts off.

But it would sure lock the clutch.

No sir...I don't know how to do that..didn't even know that the clutch is serviceable!

The problem started a few days ago. The clutch was "cutting out" too soon. Now it doesn't work PERIOD.

Maybe someone can link the thick oil mod. You drill a small hole in thelittle cover in the center front of the fan. Add oil and seal up with rtv... I think thats the jist of it.

I recall 30wt? Dont quote me! It will not last as the seals are already shot, but ya only need a stopgap!
Drill a say5/16" hole,, tap it for a allen plug, rinse it out with thinner and fill up,spin it to clear air out top up plug it off!

I read about the mod for the fan clutch yesterday. the guy got some RC car shock oil in like a 10k rating (silicate oil?) and used 50cc of oil in his. he said it does not disengage all the way and thought that 30cc may work better?.

I have the service bulletin for how to diagnose the fan clutch failure for anyone who would like a copy.

Thats what I read
Filling it will help keep it spinning, as with scooter forks the heavier the oil the stiffer it should be ! Same as to lockup!?

I would like to see the TSB on fan clutch diagnosis thought..just curious.

Something posted about if ya can see the fan blades at lockup its toast( no kidding) the center hud with grease on it =toast, look up fan statt mod!
Makes it lock up sooner!
Ford is yer best bet it seems!
