I have a 6.9 idi that I just had the fuel selector removed and fuel pump replaced. now have no fuel gauge, is there any way around getting a new selector to have a fuel reading? don't really wana risk running out of fuel but also don't wana spend 100+ on a fuel selector when don't use rear tank and only use it for reading... New on here so any help is very much appreciated

You have to wire it up.
Look up manual fuel selector valves. Should net you some wiring diagrams.

But....I'm of no help. I used two aftermarket gauges in place of the stock one, so I just extended the wires from the sending units to the dash. And the fuel selector and tanks were stolen out of a 89.
If someone were kind enough to post a wiring diagram, it would be really easy to see which wires you need to splice.

When you removed the fuel selector valve "FSV" do you still have the wiring connector to it? Holding the connector , from the left side is #1 wire, take #3 wire and splice it to #4 wire, that will read the front tank only, you will not be able to read the rear tank as the switching from front to rear is done in the FSV.
