Is there an easy fix for door rattle

Since I got my truck, both doors will rattle while I'm driving, almost as if they didn't get shut all the way. It's been really bugging me lately and I was wondering if anyone has encountered such a problem and was able to fix it?

Look and see if that plastic bushing is on the striker latch. Two of mine broke off the same week this winter when it was in the single digits. The help rack at your local ap store have them

Door hinge pins might be shot too after all of that wiggling.

If you have any of that PEX plastic plumbing pipe laying around, you can cut a piece from it, split it lengthwise and slip it over the bare pin. Holds up surprisingly well. But my experience is the plastic bushings helped the door close tighter. What cured the rattling on one of my trucks was repairing the rusted out crossmember under the rear cab body mount.

That complete door latch pin with the plastic roller on it is replaceable too plus you can adjust them to tighten up the doors too. Please... Before you loosen that center pin mark around the latch so you know where you started from. That latch can move in any direction 360 degrees from where it is now. Also you can slip some clear tubing found at home depot into the weatherstrip around the door to fluff up the flat weatherstrip. I used 3/16 and about 16 ft of it. Start at the top back corner and use plenty of dish washing liquid detergent to aid in slipping it in. Just find a air hole and go for it... Be surprised how quite the cab is after that fix.

If your in a hurry and tired of it wrap the striker pin in electrical tape.

Put new bushings on the striker, and new hinge pins in the door. Got a 90 model with over 400,000 and no rattle even on gravel roads.

I was gonna mention this too, it works really well! In daylight you could see light straight through to my cab there was such a gap. I don't know if the seal helps with the rattling or not but it definitely helps road noise

A strange fix I cobbled together was (got new batteries at the time also) was to take the covers off the top of them, cut them down and then put on there. Then I used a aggressive green duct tape and put that around it. Held so far, and no more rattles

I did the tape thing for a quick fix. Lasted two days. 10 bucks for the complete striker online so I did both doors. Should be good for another 20 years.

Question, when pressing in the door handle it should pop the door out/open...correct?
I replaced both striker bushings and with doing so I now have to 'pull' the door open...think the strikers should be moved out a little?

They close great, nice and snug, no rattles!
