Nice job, but your blue "fuel pump pressure" would not apply ahead of the fuel pump. So maybe you should just call it "fuel supply".

I thought about that, after I was done. LOL

Was gonna change it to "Supply vacuum."

Nice job. There are so many threads asking about this fuel routing. Only one thing I question about the drawing, shouldn't it be noted that there is an ORFICE in/at the tee to tank return line.

I'm sure others have this slight change as well, but my fuel return from the top of the IP exits to #2 injector.
A PO probably got tired of the long return line from the IP, so deleted it.

Thank you Jasper, and you're welcome everyone LOL

But yeah I saw your fuel path post about the psd, and the fuel pump cutaway for psd and I was like OMG we need a good one like this for the IDI's.

Also how does the fuel return work when it comes from the passenger side injectors back to the fuel filter? Does it just become part of the supply again and so only fuel that comes out of the driver's side injectors are the only ones that technically send it back to the tank?

Gotta keep it real simple for some of us :D

The return off the filter that enters the passenger side return does not go back into the fuel filter. Its out of the filter into the return line anyplace that convenient. I put mine back into the passenger side return caps between cylinders 1 & 3 with a Tee I got in the help section at vatozone...

Return line routing has been changed 3 or 4 times by IH and Ford, depending on model and year. Trying to make a specific drawing that shows it would never be correct for somebody. The rule of thumb here, is that fuel must leave the injection pump and injectors, and return to the tank, and that air must leave the filter head and return to the tank.

Thats very good information you posted Mel. I try to always explain the fuel and leaves the filter bleed off and the top of the injection pump and the injecters. All this fuel enters the return line never to be send back to anyplace but the fuel tanks. And only then will is ever return to the lift pump. Then the filter. Then the injection pump. Then the injecters and the path starts all over again. You said it simpler.:hail;Sweet
