Damn fine looking...must be happy to be able to drive. Very nice work and you should have years of trouble free service from that hopefully.
Way to go!
Way to go!
Thanks Calvin. I really should take some more photos of the new mount for the valance and lower trim peice. It replaces the factory peice, but I didn't take any good photos of it. Also, if there is anything that isn't clear or could be better let me know and I'll make some changes. It wasn't a quick as I hoped it would be, but overall, not a terrible project.hey Heath-
how about adding the pics and install notes on the IC in Rob/F350camper's "let's talk intercoolers" thread?
congrats. this is a seriously noteworthy update on IC install milestones on our IDI's .
Tim, thanks for the comments/encouragment. It's been a rough road at times. The issues I had last year with this truck really were a punch in the gut. I'm really pleased with how the truck turned out and especially how the IC project concluded. It's really hidden and you can't tell the front of the truck was modified at all. Man, I hope you can make a Rally down the road. It'd be great to hang out, talk trucks or just BS.Agreed with Calvin there. I honestly didn't think it was possible to mount a full-size intercooler on an '80-'86 front end without removing the grille. Very ingenious solution to that issue!!
Of course, THANK YOU for the updates Hopefully everything goes smoothly from here...shame I can't get out to the rally to see/hear the truck for myself!! Maybe in a couple of years...
Thanks a ton Darrin. Not sure if you could see it or not, but in that shot of my buddy Reid, you can see a 4BT in the background. He's the guy I was telling you about. He's putting it in a Scout with a T18 and a Ranger overdrive. I'm hoping to get a battery and a water filter for the camper tonight so I can pull the fifth wheel to a local campground this weekend and she what happens. Nervous about it as I know it'll make or break all my plans and work towards making the Rally. But, it's do or die time.Looks Professional there Heath, Real nice Job! That truck deserved it. Now get some miles on the thing so you can get the bugs worked out before the Rally. Are you planning a test tow with the camper?
Thanks a lot Jared. I hope it results in a much better result this time.that is some real clean nice work you have done there that should last a long time! cudos to you Heath!
I certainly hope so. I'm planning on putting a battery in the camper tonight and camping tomorrow. We'll see how it does this time around. Keeping my fingers crossed.Wow that turned out really nice. Should pull that 5ver just fine.
Thanks man. As long as it gives me trouble free hauling of the camper, I'll be very pleased with it.Very nice.
Yeah, I'm very happy about it being done. Just nervous that it will kick me in the nuts like it did last year.Damn fine looking...must be happy to be able to drive. Very nice work and you should have years of trouble free service from that hopefully.
Way to go!
David, thanks a lot man. I appreciate it.You done a great job heath thats a very beautiful truck, and under the hood looks amazing!!!
I'm going to press my luck with it tonight. I'm hauling the camper from my in-law's to get it ready to camp on Saturday. 30 miles should be a good test. We'll see. Yup, in two weeks, I'll be sitting at the campfire shoot'n the bull with ya man.Good luck on your maiden voyage Heath. I'm still liiking forward to sitting back at the camp fire and cracking some cold ones with ya.
Lock the hood!
Thanks Justin. I certainly hope so. That was the plan with this entire project.I think I speak for all of us here in saying that we are all stoked to see this, Heath!
May this rig bring you many, many family trips for years to come...
