It's fairly common practice for boneyards to pinch off injection lines then cut them so that no contaminants can get into the pumps while in storage, but it looks like this guy took a hacksaw to the open lines

Yes... This was a hack job of removel for sure but look closer at the pump. Thr tps has only one bolt holding the switch from slipping. The throttle spring is placed in the wrong location. The return line isn't installed well enough. AND... Put something that should say completely clean laying down in the dirt and grass. Now try to sell something as a core. Tis really sad.. A pirates burial is needed for this part......

I would dare say it was harder to cut those lines than to have just unscrewed them from the injector

Fairly typical salvage yard removal if you ask me. That's why I typically prefer the yards where I get to remove stuff. Most salvage yards have gorilla's working for them. My buddy had a salvage yard torch the side out of a perfectly good fender to remove the inner fender. You and Me would have pulled the bolts, but they just broke out the torch. Most yard techs have 3 tools: hammer, bolt cutters and torch.

Ever actually see some of the crusher yards when they remove an engine and trans for destruction. A huge claw reaches in and grabs the engine. Then it pulss on it till it "breaks free"... Then another claw hand grabs the trans and breaks it off to keep the aluminum seperate from the cast iron... Talk about gorillas tearing something apart....
