2,452 miles in a Travelette, talk about some irony in that statement My prediction is that if anything fails, it WON'T be an IH-part. It'll be something that was replaced with a made in China parts store item by the PO.

I agree brian! Knock on wood the truck was well maintained so I think it'll be a smooth trip.

Keep an eye on this thread guys I may "fine tune" things if I find a shorter distance, flater route to be easier on fuel and the truck. I'm going to get a map and highlight the best route, maybe even have AAA plot me a route too.

Nice,i just made a trip like that last summer from Dallas TX to Harrisburg/York PA. it was a solid couple days of driving. started friday afternoon and got home about 4am on sunday. i didnt want to do another hotel night and i was away from my family to long so i buckled up and kept trucking.

that was in my 03 ranger though still a nice trip. you might want to possibly reconsider the part through virginia. it looks like it will be a mountenous area, beautiful but it can kill miliage.

70 is fairly flat. If you do come up to 70 and across, 70 goes right through the town argve (Travis) and I live in. Pretty much anywhere between Dayton Oh, and Indianapolis is less that an hour from us. We can fire up the PSD and come get you.

70 is godawful flat!

if you come 70 I've got you east of dayton to the OH/WV border.

Yeah, Road trips are fun , cant knock that. But driving 2400 miles in an unknown 40 year old vehicle is a BIG gamble.
